My favorite time of the year has once again been canceled due to COVID! Awarding the Crosby Army ROTC Scholarship to a very deserving young cadet at Embry-Riddle in Daytona Beach is one of my favorite times of the year.
This doesn’t mean there will be no Scholarship awarded, just no public presentation.
This year’s awardee is CDT Thomas A Kragh CDT Kragh is in his Junior year studying to earn an Aerospace Engineering Degree. Cadet Kragh is also a part of the school’s Honors Program, sporting a 3.658 GPA through his first five semesters.
He was born in Long Branch, NJ and lived there until the age of 11. In his early life, Cadet Kragh spent much of his childhood on Fort Monmouth in daycare and after-school care as well as on the Fort Monmouth basketball, swimming, and soccer teams. There he looked up to and learned to respect and honor those in uniform.
The rest of his childhood was spent in Bel Air, MD after Fort Monmouth was closed and moved to Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. Cadet Kragh was an avid baseball player and student as a child and was awarded a 3-year national scholarship to participate in ROTC.
Cadet Kragh began his ROTC training upon arriving at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 2018. Some of his hobbies include intramural softball and flag football, hiking, biking, and beach-going.
