Capt. Crosby Awarded (posthumous) Purple Heart

Crosby-PurpleHeart-1WebAfter 43 years Capt. Crosby has been awarded the Purple Heart for his ultimate sacrifice in the Vietnam war. The family is honored to accept the award.

The Purple Heart is awarded to members of the armed forces of the U.S. who are wounded by an instrument of war in the hands of the enemy and posthumously to the next of kin in the name of those who are killed in action or die of wounds received in action. It is specifically a combat decoration.

The Purple Heart was presented to Capt. Crosby’s mother on March 28, 2013. She commented, “I wish it were him instead, but this is nice. He deserved it.”
